Emergency Roof Leak Repair

When water is coming in, waiting makes it worse. Call (202) 710-9397 — we dry the roof in first to stop the damage, then make the permanent repair.

Right now

What to do while you wait

If water is actively coming in: put a bucket under the drip; move valuables out of the way; keep clear of any bulging ceiling — a ceiling bulging with water can come down; and do not climb on the roof yourself, especially in rain or wind. Then call us at (202) 710-9397.

First step

Dry-in first, then the permanent repair

An emergency call has two parts. First, the dry-in: we stop the water getting in — tarping and temporary sealing as needed — so the damage stops growing. Second, once the roof is dry and safe to work on, we inspect the whole area, find the actual source of the leak, and make the permanent repair. A dry-in without a real repair is just a delay; a repair without stopping the water first is guesswork. We do both, in that order.

After the emergency

What happens next

Once the leak is stopped and repaired, we show you photos of what we found and tell you straight whether the roof needs anything more. Sometimes one repair settles it. Sometimes the leak was a warning that the roof is near the end of its life — in that case we will say so and give you a free estimate for replacement or, for a flat rowhome roof, flat roof repair, coating & replacement, with no pressure to decide on the spot.
